Mel Crothers is a Christian singer songwriter based in Perth, Australia.
Initially pursuing a career in Musical Theatre, Mel is now solely focused on sharing the life giving message of the gospel through music to both Christians and non-Christian alike.
Mel’s debut album Neolight (2011) was part of sharing that message and the fulfilment of a God given dream to create music that is just as cutting edge and relevant as the chart topping secular pop artists but with a positive, uplifting message.
February 2016 saw the release of Mel’s sophomore album Faithful. A departure from the sound of her previous album, Faithful was fuelled by a deepening desire and call to lead people to the foot of the cross and intimacy with Jesus. A mix of contemporary Christian pop and congregational worship this album has seen success on the Australian Christian music charts as well as airplay on UCB radio in the UK.
As well as regularly leading worship in churches throughout Australia and the USA, Mel also serves as an ambassador with child sponsorship organisation Compassion and apportions profits from album sales to see children released from poverty in Jesus’ name.
Mel is passionate about spreading the good news of Jesus, whether it’s leading people in worship, serving along side her husband Daron in church planting ministry or in their broader Neolife Ministries. Her heart is that everyone would have the opportunity to hear the name of Jesus.
